What do you need to know before you start?
What is Ticando?
Ticando is a booking engine for tour operators selling tours, activities and rentals. It lets you publish experiences, control availability in real time, take payment online and manage everything from a single panel. More than 500 businesses use it, and they have processed over 50 million dollars in bookings.
How much does Ticando cost?
Signing up is free and there are no monthly fees: Ticando charges a commission only on each confirmed and paid booking. If you need a website, the Basic Website costs 350 euros and the Web Portal 1,500 euros, both as a one-off payment for the build. Prices exclude taxes, which depend on the country of the business.
Can I use Ticando if I already have a website?
Yes, and at no sign-up cost. The booking engine embeds into your current website through a widget placed on whichever page you want your experiences to appear. Nothing needs rebuilding and you keep your provider: your site stays as it is and gains the ability to sell and take payment online.
Who receives the money from bookings?
You do. The traveller pays through the payment gateway you have configured and the money reaches your account, not Ticando’s. The activity contract is between your business and the traveller; Ticando provides the technology that makes the booking and the payment possible.
Which payment gateways can I use?
Ticando integrates with Stripe, MultiSafepay, GreenPay and BAC Credomatic, among others. You register directly with whichever you prefer, under your own terms and fees. Ticando provides the connection, but never holds your booking money and is not a party to your agreement with the gateway.
Which countries does Ticando work in?
Ticando operates in Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. The platform supports several languages and currencies, and calculates tax by the country of the business: 21% VAT in Spain and the local rate elsewhere in the European Union.
How long does it take to start selling?
With an existing website, embedding the widget takes minutes once your experiences are configured. If you order a Basic Website or Portal, the timeline depends on the content you supply: photos, descriptions and prices. Registration with the payment gateway runs in parallel and is usually what sets the pace.
Do I need technical knowledge to use it?
No. Day-to-day work — publishing experiences, changing prices, opening or closing availability — happens in a panel built for people who do not code. Embedding the widget means pasting a snippet into your site, and if you would rather not touch it, the Ticando team sets it up for you.
